Thread: One Blog, One Post Up!

    One Blog, One Post Up!

Whew! Mike was not joking it was hard work... it really is.

It took me all of 2 days to put up a blog with 1 unique post and configure all the plugins as per the course. Really no shortcuts... but this time should come down with each new blog.

@Mike - I've been blogging for a while but I really did not know anything about SEO compared to what I've learnt the past week or so from ABB. Really appreciate all your help and teaching.

Guys, I was thinking why not start a group where we can help out each other... this is especially for the newbies. We can help with content creation, plugins, installation or just share what we did and what worked.

I can help out with Wordpress and plugins so buzz me if anyone needs any help. I can also help with SERPAssist (I was a beta tester).

    Good work moserw.

Let us know how your web logs and cash draw go.

What did you find the most time consuming part?
Was it just because you were learning as this was your ifrst one, or what affects one sflow the most.

Lastly did you make a checklist?
I think several members would love to see some version of a checklist.

I think 2 days is prerry good. I think most people should take a week. Personally I've given myself a month.

Yes, I will keep everyone and especially Mike updated.

Pretty much everything was time consuming actually! Doing a fresh install, uploading all plugins, writing fresh content and then doing onpage SEO. I've used the default Twenty Ten theme for now as I did not want to add the confusion of selecting a theme too.

My checklist is ABB. I watched all the videos once (well I missed module 10 onwards since they were not up). I again began watching the videos a 2nd time and this time began doing what was in the video as soon as the video was over. For the most part all the plugins have been configured to work out of the box by Mike so I instead installed all the plugins on my personal blog and configured them exactly just so I can learn for myself all the different options. At the same time I double checked the plugins on my autoblog to make sure they were set correct (Mike has set them up to work out of the box and one really does not need to change anything).

I've just completed Step 9 (one post done, will do another 9 on an alternate day basis for the seasoning) and starting with Step 10. While I wait for this blog to season, the POA is to start with another blog and follow the ABB checklist and only refer to the videos when in doubt.

Finally, I will be starting with the advanced plugins only after the seasoning part is done so that's a good 2-3 weeks away, but I should at least have 5+ blogs in various stages of seasoning by then.

Finally guys I'm not one to give advice but if I have learnt anything valuable that's good to share and will benefit others... this is it - Stick with the ABB as Mike has laid out. Follow along (taking your time) and at the end you will have a great blog built to high SEO standards.

    thanks moserw, really nice feedback!

Guys if you want to cut the time, use the latest Mikes Auto Blog Blueprint 2.0 Base Wordpress Install with preinstalled the basic plugins, you can find it at Module 2, step 4. Almost everything will be set according to the videos. It will unpack from Backupbuddy.

You only need to change basics like name of the blog, your email etc. and set up advanced plugins.

At the beginning I recommend you to watch all videos and read the text because YOU MUST KNOW what each plugin does and Mike rulez in giving you great and fast overview of each plugin.

These videos and texts will put you on the fast line! Imagine doing research which plugins should you use and what they do if you know nothing about autoblogging! There are thousands of plugins and Mike picked the best one...

What do you mean when you say your checklist is ABB? Was there a checklist for ABB 1.0? I'm thinking its going to take me awhile just to complete my first POA and create a checklist.

I only meant I have not created any checklist. I'm just using ABB and following along. A checklist would speed things up I suppose, but I have not gotten around to creating one yet.

    Dear moserw,
Thanks so much for sharing your current experience. I'm doing the same thing - but a LOT slower than yourself. Love your plan to build the next while the last one seasons. It makes perfect sense.
My checklist is ABB as well... meaning: I'll just keep going through the entire course, text and videos, over and over, until I can do it "without looking."
Repetition is the key to learning.
Since Mike said, "this is a living do***ent," This course will grow and develop (once the poor guy's video nightmare ends...). I think I'll be repeating it a lot...
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum. Personally, I'm finding it a really helpful resource, and a wonderful community.

Oh ok. I will probably do the same thing. Checklists make me feel sane, but I find that I create checklists and update update update only to eventually scrape them and make a new one. Wonder what would happen if I spent all that time creating and promoting websites?

Just finished the first run through. I plan to create a business plan that includes both time and money management while going through the second reading/watching. Anyone else attempting to create the 100 sites in 6 months while working a full time J-O-B? I'm very intimidated right now, to say the least!

Hi, thanks for all the useful information, I used backupbuddy to install my first blog and it went up a breeze, with all the base plugins installed, only a little tweaking required. Now I need to write my first post. Any tips for getting unique content written on a budget? Thing with my site is that it is about a technical product and I was going to start with a review, so the article would need to be well researched with tech details etc.
